Laura joined Vira International in autumn 2021, following five years’ experience in British immigration policy. She holds a BA in international relations (the University of Minnesota), an MA in European politics (King’s College London), and an MSc in immigration policy (the London School of Economics and Political Science). Laura hopes to eventually obtain a PhD in political science with a focus on British immigration policy. Prior to her career in immigration, she worked mainly in education as a teacher across the world, including in Senegal, China, and the United States.
As a migrant herself, Laura is thrilled to be working at Vira International helping fellow immigrants with their journeys towards life in the UK. In her free time, she volunteers with migrant and refugee organisations, as well as spends time with friends and explores all the sites London has to offer.
